Scale of the Week – D Major

New scale this week: D Major! This week I’m working on practicing scales in different patterns.

One example would be going up the scale to the third and then back down on every note.

From the top of the scale down: D-E-F#-E-D, C#-D-E-D-C#, B-C#-D-C#-B, etc.

From the bottom of the scale up: D-E-F#-E-D, E-F#-G-F#-E, F#-G-A-G-F#, etc.

Another example would be to go up one note and back down for every scale degree.

From the top of the scale down: D-E-D, C#-D-C#, B-C#-B, etc.

From the bottom of the scale up: D-E-D, E-F#-E, F#-G-F#, etc.
